アーティスト 松山しげき Shigeki Matsuyama ブレイク前夜～次世代の芸術家たち～ #199
第一次大戦の頃使用されたダズル迷彩を使用した作品で世界中から注目される松山しげき。 今回の個展では《 Portrait of dazzle 》シリーズを発表します。
SNSやブログなどインターネット上にアップロードされている無数のセルフィーやスナップなどの顔写真から、ビデオプロジェクターを使い「目」だけを正確にトレースし、肖像の輪郭はモデルとした実際の人物から、人種や性別、髪型、体型などを全く別の人間に描き変えることで、インターネットの匿名性や情報の不確かさを表現した「現代人の肖像画」です。
インスタレーション作品の発表で知られる松山しげきの貴重な平面作品を展示する注目の展覧会です。
Shigeki Matsuyama has been attracting attention from around the world for his works using dazzle camouflage, which was used during World War I. In this solo exhibition, he will present his "Portrait of dazzle" series.

Using a video projector, he accurately traces only the "eyes" from the countless selfies and snapshots of faces uploaded on the Internet, such as social networking sites and blogs, and changes the outline of the portrait from the actual model to a completely different person in terms of race, gender, hairstyle, and body shape. This is a "portrait of a modern person" that expresses the anonymity of the Internet and the uncertainty of information.
This is a remarkable exhibition of valuable two-dimensional works by Shigeki Matsuyama, who is known for his installation works.
